“From” Akanûl by way of Cormyr, a member of the Oghmanyte Church of All Tomorrows, Bejarid long believed himself an orphan kept in the extended family of his church. As the machinations of the rakhshasa Kalkan were coming to a head with the apparent death of the deva Demascus, Bejarid found that he could no longer follow the teachings of Landrew. He struck out on his own in the dead of night and travelled, nonstop, for days until utter exhaustion took him and he fell from his saddle.

While lying unconscious in the roadside muck, a vision came to him of an unknown entity who offered Bejarid knowledge, unfettered, and presented him the truth of his origins. That he is not, in fact, from Toril, that his true home lies farther away than seems imaginable.

In the decade since this event, he has travelled as much of Faerûn as he has been able, visiting great bastions of Oghma, and of learning in general.
